In a heartening demonstration of community engagement and corporate responsibility, RE/MAX of Southern Africa has stepped forward to support one of the most critical issues facing vulnerable communities today. Through the collective efforts of their network and the RE/MAX Foundation, R20,000 was donated on 14 April 2025 to Free to Fly, an organization dedicated to combating human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
This significant contribution reinforces the commitment of RE/MAX towards positively impacting the lives of those who live in Southern Africa.
According to Adrian Goslett, Regional Director and CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa, the decision to donate was driven by a profound belief in giving back to the community and fostering a safer, more inclusive environment for all. “Our community is our greatest asset,” he commented. “We believe that supporting Free to Fly is not just about financial aid; it is about making a lasting impact on the lives of those who are most vulnerable.”
The money raised is intended to go towards the costs of setting up and running the organisation’s first house of safety. Free to Fly will be running a residential programme for girls, of school-going age, who have been victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. The programmes will be run and facilitated in a safe environment with carefully selected personnel. The end goal is to equip, empower and restore victims so that they can successfully reintegrate into community life outside of the house of safety.
As society continues to grapple with the challenges posed by exploitation and trafficking, the collective efforts of organizations like RE/MAX and Free to Fly demonstrate a promising path forward—one where the safety and dignity of every individual are paramount.
